Senator Harris Statement on Trump’s Withdrawal from the Paris Agreement

WASHINTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris, a member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, released the following statement in response to President Trump's decision to withdraw from the United Nations Paris Agreement:

"We can all agree that all people should be able to breathe clean air and live in a safe and healthy environment. Pulling out of the Paris Agreement is an irrational decision that is a disastrous step backward, threatens the future viability of our planet for future generations, and abdicates our role of leadership. The United States has an obligation to combat this global threat to public health and safety here at home, and abroad. As this Administration retreats, I will continue to work to support California's efforts to lead the fight against global climate change."
