SAN DIEGO - Today, U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, visited the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, where she received a briefing on the capabilities and operations of military sites and I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) missions, and learned about the unique role the I MEF plays in National Defense and Intelligence.
“What I saw are incredibly dedicated Americans who are serving our country, doing extraordinary work that requires high-level skills,” said Harris. “I also spent time with the spouses of active service members, talking about the sacrifices they make in terms of their children and being by themselves for eight months at a time. They can’t be thanked enough.”
