On July 29th, Senator Kamala D. Harris and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced the Climate Equity Act, draft legislation to hold the federal government accountable for ensuring that frontline communities are at the center of environmental and climate-related policies, rules, regulations, and investments. That means that frontline communities must have a seat and voice at the decision-making table. To ensure that frontline voices are heard in the development of this legislation, the congresswomen welcome comments, suggestions, and insights from the public, environmental justice organizations, and leaders in the fight to achieve an equitable Green New Deal.
